So It Goes
ROLE sole Creator
Ringling College of Art + Design (Senior thesis)
I created this animated short from start to finish over the course of 6 months.
I produced storyboards and style frames. Then, explored color palettes and illustration styles. Most of the painterly effects were created by hand and then captured on camera with assistance from a fellow classmate, acting as camera operator. And finally composited everything in After Effects. The Cage character was developed in Illustrator and then rigged using the DUIK plug-in for After Effects.
My favorite thing about this project was creating a narrative, character-based storyline around an abstracted concept and utilizing hand-made, artistic mediums to push the visual storytelling.

A goal of mine was to make every scene beautiful, so I challenged myself to create postcards from scenes throughout the short.
Creating many of the effects by hand and compositing them within AE.
